AURORA-Plasma: Low-pressure plasma for high-performance polymers and complex geometries

AURORA-Plasma expands the possibilities for surface treatment of engineering plastics and high-performance components. The technology operates under low-pressure conditions in a vacuum process chamber and enables controlled, reproducible surface modification in a batch process.

This allows for the targeted treatment of the entire surface of components, even those made of high-performance polymers that are difficult to activate, such as PEEK, PTFE, FEP, or PEBA. The increased surface energy improves the adhesion of coatings, adhesives, and sealing systems without subjecting sensitive component geometries to thermal or mechanical stress.

Especially for complex 3D structures, AURORA plasma opens up new possibilities for applications in medical technology, electronics, and lightweight construction. Catheters, implants, and other functional polymer components can be treated precisely and reproducibly and prepared for subsequent manufacturing steps.

To ensure maximum process stability and reproducibility, quality assurance modules continuously monitor key process parameters and support documentable treatment results.
